Coffee Table – part 2

This is part 2 of the coffee table project class that I am taking at the Philadelphia Furniture Workshop school.

Now that the table top was assembled, it was time to work on the legs. I found a piece of walnut with similar color and grain as the table top. I used a template to layout the legs, aligning the wood grain to the direction of the grain.

I used the band saw to cut out the legs.

Then I cut out the mortises on the legs.

The matching tenons were cut with a band saw. A rasp was used to round the corners to fit.

The legs were then glued and clamped to the stretcher.

While the legs were drying, I rounded the edges of the table top at the router table.
